When traveling with children, it’s important to secure your firearm safely in your car. Here’s how to store your firearm responsibly while on the road.
1. Use a Biometric Vehicle Safety Device
A biometric safety device like B.O.S. Lock is ideal for securing firearms in vehicles. These devices offer fingerprint-activated access, preventing unauthorized use while keeping the firearm easily accessible for emergencies.
2. Secure the Device in an Inaccessible Area
Store the safety device in a location where children cannot easily reach it, such as under the seat or in the trunk.
3. Lock the Firearm When Not in Use
Even for short periods, always lock your firearm in the biometric safety device to ensure it stays secure.
4. Activate Your Car’s Security System
Make sure your vehicle is locked and that your security system is active to protect both the vehicle and the firearm stored inside.
5. Teach Children About Gun Safety
While traveling, ensure that your children understand the importance of never touching the firearm, even though it’s securely stored with a biometric safety device.
Stay vigilant, stay responsible, and always prioritize safety.
